Crockpot Cookery

Did you know, many of your favorite oven and range-top recipes can be adapted to slow cooking with a few minor changes.

If recipe says:                 Cook in Crockpot:
15 - 30 minutes               1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours on high or
 4 - 8 hours on low *
35 - 45 minutes                3 - 4 hours on high or
 6 - 10 hours on low *
50 minutes - 3 hours         4 - 6 hours on high or
 8 - 18 hours on low *

* Most uncooked meat and vegetable combinations will require at least 8 hours on low.

Keep posted for information regarding amounts of liquids and seasonings; slow cooking vegetables and meats, rice and pasta; milk, creams and cheese.  If you have something you would like to share, please leave a comment below!

I made lasagna in the crockpot this week. I put it together earlier in the day when I had time to spare. It turned out pretty good. I will be trying more oven recipes in the crockpot. Hopefully when the kids come home from school, I won't be busy in the kitchen making supper!

We should share our favorite crock pot recipes. :-)

I'm an avid collector of recipes. I have a cupboard in the kitchen totally devoted to cookbooks and such.... my hubby calls me the Recipe Queen. lol

Crock pot lasagna is so yummy. Haven't made it in a while.... guess I'm going to have to do it one of these days.

I made chili in the crock pot last Sunday.... it BOILED OVER!!!! o_O All over the countertop. Very messy but cleaned up easily!

Have a great week everyone! :-D
