Freezer Meals Swap


Our Freezer Meals Group will continue to meet as long as there is sufficient interest for swapping freezer meals.  For information on this group you can refer to Freezer Meals Information post by clicking here!    The number of sisters swapping meals has changed , please contact Arlene Cook if you are interested in joining this group.

Unstuffed Cabbage

1lb. ground beef.
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 1/2 tsp. dry parsley.
1 tsp. oregano.
1/4 tsp. pepper.
1 med. onion sliced.
28 oz. can stewed tomatoes.
6 oz. can tomato paste.
1 1/4 C. water.
1 1/4 tsp. salt.
1 tsp. sugar.
1 small head cabbage-shredded. ( 1 bag of cole slaw mix.)

Fry beef, and drain off fat. Add onions- cook 4 minutes, add garlic-cook 1 minute. Add tomatoes and tomato paste plus 1 1/4 c. water. Add all 5 spices and simmer for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 of the cabbage, cover and cook 5 minutes. Add remaining cabbage and simmer for 90 minutes covered. Stir occasionally.

Can be served with mashed potatoes or rice along with a vegetable.


Lasagna Casserole

1 12-14 oz. can diced tomatoes, blended.
1 10-12 oz. can crushed tomatoes.
1 can kidney beans mashed, or pureed.
2 tsp. garlic powder, or 2-3 cloves.
3 Tbsp. Italian seasoning.
1 Cup cottage cheese.
4-6 C. macaroni cooked.
2 C. Shredded cheddar cheese.
1/4 C. parmesan cheese.

Mix the first 5 ingredients in a large sauce pan, bring to medium heat (about 5 minutes) then turn to low and let simmer 20 minutes. Cook the pasta.

Layer in a dish:  First,half the sauce, then half the macaroni, then cottage cheese sprinkle the parmesan cheese over it, (if you wanted to add spinach or broccoli you could add it uncooked on this layer) (both are very good in this recipe) then add the last of the macaroni, finally put on the last of the sauce and cover with shredded cheddar.

Bake 45 min. to an hour at 350F.


Applesauce Pork

2 C. applesauce.
1/3C. sugar.
2T. soya sauce.
1 tsp. garlic.
1/4. tsp. ginger.
4-6 pork chops.

Brown pork in a hot frying pan. Place pork in a freezer bag, cover with sauce and freeze.  Place pork in crock pot, cover with sauce, and cook for 6 hours. OR, bake at 350 for 45 min.
